SLIM-PLO-2
Frequency output = 940 MHz to 1075 MHz.  PLL is LMX 2326.  The loop filter is passive (no op amp).  Dual RF outputs, +10 dBm at J2 and J3.  Phase noise at 1024 MHz is -99 dBc, 5 KHz away from carrier.
R12 and C27 are optional.  Installed, they present a 50 ohm load to the driver.  Omitted, the PLL is high impedance CMOS logic.

Revision A changes the R8-R11 VCO power divider, which adds about 10 dB more isolation between the buffer amplifiers.  Even though it decreases the drive to the buffers by about 5 dB, there is enough power to keep the buffers in saturation.  Therefore, the attenuation resistor values, R15-R17 and R20-R22, are not changed.  However, the output power should be verified and the resistors adjusted if either output needs changing.  The previous revision of the SLIM-PLO-2 (Rev 0), must be modified for these changes.  Exception, if it is being used only in the Basic MSA, without Tracking Generator, the mod is not necessary.

Revision A changes the input ferite beads to resistors, to allow for better power supply filtering.
Revision A adds R26, for better supply filtering and noise performance.
Revision A removes the optional component path under U5.  This was a potential short circuit.

The previous revision of the SLIM-PLO-1 (Rev 0), must be modified for these changes.  Exception, if U5 is not used, it is not necessary to cut away the pads.
Revision B:
Corrected resistor values of  R8, R10, and R11.  Should be 120 ohm.
Changed output attenuators to 2.5 dB attenuation.  Now, both buffers will output approximately +10 dBm.
SKSLIM-PLO-2 Rev C (schematic only):
Corrected resistor values of  R15 and R17.  Should be 330 ohm, not 150 ohm.
Corrected resistor value of  R16.  Should be 15 ohm, not 37.4 ohm.  Parts list is correct.

Update 8-07-08.  The Rev B schematic showed R15, R16, and R17 incorrectly.  The parts list was correct.

LAY-PLO-2, Layout of SLIM-PLO-2

This layout is used as a parts locator.  Not to be used for ordering the PWB.

Special note about the Minicircuits VCO, U4, ROS 1500.  Minicircuits specifications show conflicting data.  Vcc is actually  +10 volts and it's output power is well over +8 dBm at 1024 MHz.
